Lake Monitor AI ("we", "us") provides on-site lake, pond and reservoir mapping services in the United States and Canada and operates the website lakemonitor.ai. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website and how we use it.

Information we collect

Information you give us: when you request a quote we collect your name, organization, email address, phone number, the type and location of your waterbody, its approximate size, your goals and any message you write.

Information collected automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) used for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Interactive demo: the sample map on our homepage runs entirely in your browser using synthetic data; no map interactions are sent to us.

How we use your information

To respond to your quote request and plan, price and deliver mapping services.

To send a confirmation email of your request and follow-up communications about your project.

To operate, secure and improve the website.

To comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where applicable)

We process quote-request information to take steps at your request before entering a contract and, for follow-up about your project, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Where consent is required (for example for optional analytics cookies), we ask for it first.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and deliver email (for example our hosting and transactional-email providers), who may process it solely on our instructions, and where required by law.

Retention

Quote requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where a project proceeds, for the life of the customer relationship plus any period required by law. You may ask us to delete your request at any time.

Depending on where you live (including under Canadian PIPEDA, provincial privacy laws and US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and reputable hosting providers. No method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our services are for organizations and adult property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
